Description
Amazon Kindle Oasis, Waterproof eReader, 7″ High Resolution Display with Adjustable Warm Light, Built-In Audible, 8GB, Wi-Fi, Graphite Grey
There’s no need to put down your novel when you relax in the bath, as the waterproof Kindle Oasis will be protected if you accidently drop it in the water. It has a large 7-inch 300ppi display to fit over 30% more words per page at default font size, so you have fewer page turns and reads like printed paper – even in bright sunlight.
Waterproof design
The Oasis has a IPX8 rating, which means it’s protected against immersion in up to 2 metres of fresh water for up to 60 minutes. It can also withstand splashes when you’re on the beach or by the pool.
Listen to the stories
Use Audible on your Oasis to get access to over 200,000 audiobooks, perfect for when you want to rest your eyes but don’t want to storytelling to stop. You can enjoy A-list celebrities narrate your favourite titles, as well as listen with relish to full-cast ensemble performances.
Pair your device with Bluetooth headphones or speakers to allow you to freely move about your house as you switch from reading to listening. Or connect the Oasis to your car speakers using Bluetooth to let the whole family enjoy the unfolding tale on your next car journey.
One-hand reading
The Oasis is designed with a slightly thicker base to shift the centre of gravity down the device to let it comfortably rest in your palm, making it even easier to turn the page with a touch of the display or a press of the dedicated page-turn buttons on the side. Plus, it’ll automatically rotate for left- or right-handed reading.
Light it up
There are 25 LED lights, along with an adaptive light sensor on the Oasis that’ll automatically adjust to suit your surroundings – providing an optimum reading experience wherever you are. This way you can comfortably read in a dimly-lit room as well as outside in bright sunlight. You can also tweak the light from white to amber to create a more classic novel reading experience.
A library in your pocket
There are over 3 million books, newspapers and magazines available for you to download and enjoy from the Kindle store – so you won’t be short of reading options. Including more than a million free books; choose from classics like Pride & Prejudice and Treasure Island.
With over 500,000 titles that are exclusive to Kindle. You can store thousands of books on a Kindle, making moving from one book to the next with ease. It’ll also help substantially reduce luggage weight for keen holiday readers!
If your Kindle gets wet
If your Kindle is splashed with water, just wipe the water off with a soft cloth.
If your Kindle is immersed in water, please remove its cover, make sure no cables are plugged into the device and do not attempt to charge your Kindle until it is completely dry.
If your Kindle is immersed in salt water, chlorinated water, soapy water or liquids other than fresh water, make sure you rinse that liquid out of the device with fresh water such as cold tap water, then dry your Kindle.
What steps should I take to dry my Kindle?
To dry your Kindle, please let the water drain out through the micro-USB port, gently tapping the side of the device as necessary. Amazon recommends you also let your Kindle dry fully in a well-ventilated location, with it standing upright so that any excess water can continue to drain from the micro-USB port.
Do not attempt to dry your Kindle with an external heat source, such as a microwave oven or hairdryer. Do not insert a foreign object, such as a cotton bud or paper towel, into the micro-USB port to dry it.
